Kingfisher Kindergarten, based in Sonning Common, is recruiting for a dynamic Level 2 (or above) Early Years & Childcare Practitioner to join our thriving, friendly and much loved Pre School.
We are a diverse and inclusive setting caring for children from the age of 2-4. We have a very caring and nurturing team who are dedicated to creating a safe environment for staff and children.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide high standards of quality within the preschool including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
- To deliver, observe, support, extend and ensure a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 2-5 years.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and planning appropriately to enable children to make individual progress.
- Demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion
- Be a Key Person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families
- Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures
- To adhere to all policies, procedures and curriculums including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
- Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand, and when necessary follow, Safeguarding Procedures
- To be responsible for and undertake any reasonable tasks delegated by the Manager/Director To remain professional and have a warm and positive approach towards staff members, visitors, parents and children demonstrating excellent communication skills
You will need to have the following qualifications, training and experience:
- Level 2 (or above) in Early Years Childcare or equivalent
- Previous childcare experience required in roles such as Play Worker, Nursery Nurse, Childminder, Nanny
- Some knowledge of OFSTED requirements and standards
- Safeguarding and First Aid Trained
Hours: 18.5-24.5 hours per week - Tuesdays 9am-3pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9am-3:15pm and potentially offering extended hours working Fridays 9am-3pm
Opportunity for more hours during holidays as and when we run a holiday club
Term Time only
£11.44 per hour plus holiday pay – paid on a Pro Rata monthly salary basis
