Tam's House is a unique setting in a converted Victorian town house that provides the perfect backdrop for our small nursery. The nursery underwent a gradual transformation and is now a home from home to 18 children and 8 members of staff. A success from the start, we have had full capacity from day one.
There are two different rooms within the building catering for up to nine children each. There is The Loft upstairs for the younger children and The Den for the older ones on the middle floor. Both use the Montessori method and equipment in conjunction with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to stimulate and aid the children’s holistic development. There are areas for Practical Life, Sensorial, Cultural Studies, Maths, Language, ICT, Imaginative and Creative play, as well as an area for quiet time.
We are looking for a kind, caring, enthusiastic nursery practitioner to join our team. As an Early Years Practitioner you will need to be able to plan, prepare and deliver activities for the individual needs of the children. The ability to monitor, assess, record and produce written reports is an expectation as a member of staff- taking responsibility for key children’s learning and development.
Requirements;
- MUST hold a NVQ Level 3 in Childcare
- No previous montessori experience is required
- Previous childcare experience within a professional environment
- Good standard of written English
- Full time (Monday - Friday ) 8.30am - 17.30pm
(This role is for someone looking to progress in their career and learn a new method of teaching young children in a small class of 9)

The garden is spacious and private with room to run around in. There is plenty to do, from the planting and care of plants to riding bikes and ball games, as well as more sensorial play like the sandpit and water tray.
