Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Room Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in childcare and early childhood education, demonstrating the ability to manage a team effectively while providing a nurturing environment for children. This role requires excellent communication skills in English and the ability to engage with both staff and children. As a Room Leader, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring that all activities are conducted smoothly and in accordance with our standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring high-quality care and education for children.
- Planning and coordinating activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their children's progress.
- Foster a positive environment that encourages children's development through play and learning.
- Lead by example, demonstrating strong leadership skills while motivating the team.
Requirements
- Level 3 in Childcare
- Monday - Friday (8am - 5.15pm) - No school hours
- X1 full time or x2 part time staff
- Proven experience in childcare or early childhood education is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is highly desirable.
- A genuine drive to support children's growth and development.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative when required.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities within the nursery environment.

Monday 8 - 5.15
Tuesday 8 - 4
Wednesday 8 - 5.15
Thursday 9 - 4
Friday 8 - 4.30

Cliffe House Nursery School has a long history of providing excellence in care and early learning. It was established in 1933 as Cliffe House Kindergarten and since that time has only changed owner/principal four times.
Julie Warkup has been Cliffe House Nursery School’s owner and principal since 1999 and, together with her team, continues the aim of excellence. In 2015 Cliffe House Nursery School achieved the Ofsted Outstanding award. Julie is a qualified primary school teacher, holds a BAHons degree, and was awarded the accreditation of Early Years Professional Status in January 2007.
At Cliffe House Nursery School we have a qualified and experienced staff team of Early Years Practitioners who have been with us at our nursery school many years, providing a caring, happy, stimulating environment where all children are encouraged to discover, experience, explore, learn and develop. Our staff team ensure that all the children’s individual needs, additional needs, or more special needs are met.
Cliffe House Nursery School welcomes children from the age of 9 months to school age. We are open 8.00am to 6.00pm weekdays throughout the year except bank holidays and for two weeks over the Christmas period. There are government funded places and also a voucher system.
