3S Adolescent care provides high quality specialist services for children who suffer from emotional and behavioural difficulties, which have experienced neglect, abuse and trauma.
Duties and Responsibilities
To meet the needs of children through:
· Ensuring that each each child’s care plan and their responsibilities for its implementation
· Attending childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve best outcomes for young people
· Undertaking direct work with young people and acting as an appropriate role model
· Maintaining accurate written records in logs, continuation sheets and files both to record information and enable regular monitoring and evaluation to take place
To promote the efficient and effective operation of the Home through:
· Developing in consultation with young people and carers routines in relation to all aspects of childcare
· Clarifying expectations in relation to maintaining the Home in a clean and orderly condition
· Creating rotas which fit best with children’s needs, and which allow proper handovers between shifts
· Ensuring that there are appropriate and adequate reporting and recording systems in place to comply with Quality Standards & Regulations
· Attending to all administration issues in relation to the Home and the provision of weekly management information reports for Central Services
This role will include shift work involving evenings, weekends, and sleeps (including a sleep-in allowance).
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
• Over the age of 21 (HSB Homes Candidates must be over the age of 30)
Shifts - 2 on 4 off - includes sleep ins
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in care dealing with challenging behaviour
- Level 3 Residential Childcare (not essential)
- Diploma Level 3 Children & Young People Workforce (not essential)
- NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care Young People (not essential)
