At Zero2Five, our client are looking to employ an experienced Nursery Manager for their quality 30-place private Day Nursery based near Whitechapel, London. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nursery Manager or Deputy Nursery Manager looking to take the next step up in their career!
The successful candidate will be expected to provide high quality childcare for families who attend the setting. The Manager must be flexible and innovative in promoting the development, welfare, and potential of children, in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Essential Criteria:
- You must hold a Level 3 qualification or above
- A minimum of 2 years Manager/Supervisorial experience of working with children is essential.
- Understanding the Statutory Framework Early Years Foundation Stage and other legislative requirements.
- GCSE English and Maths grade C or equivalent.
- Have experience and knowledge of being a SENCO.
- Extensive relevant practical childcare experience is required, as well as experience of relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations; working with external agencies; working with the voluntary sector; working with parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a team effectively, to lead a team of professional workers and to ensure good practice at all times.
- Carry out health and Safety checks, and risk assessment on a daily basis, maintaining and assessing all the policies and procedures indispensably to drive improvement.
- Build and maintain a positive relationship with parents and children.
- To be responsible and to oversee the day-to-day management, staffing, organisation, and smooth running of the setting.
- To ensure the setting meets the required standards, ratios, and conditions of registration.
- Developing and maintaining the nursery budget
- Sharing nursery information with parents/cares such as, events, closures, inset days.
- To be responsible, for the construction and delivery of a fully inclusive and high-quality integrated curriculum adhering to the principles of the EYFS and have regard to other government guidance, that adheres to legislative requirements and standards from OFSTED and other childcare advisory statutory / voluntary agencies, through effective staff management and facilities organisation.
- To ensure the provision is inclusive for all children and families that are accessing the setting. To ensure the setting is stimulating and the environment is supportive, which integrates with the settings multi-agency procedures and with the EYFS. The manager liaises with other agencies and responds to local community ethnic, cultural, health and linguistic diversity.
- Understanding of child safety practices including paediatric first aid, safeguarding children and food hygiene
- Providing high quality childcare for the under-fives, which includes a wide range of activities and opportunities to enable children to achieve their full potential.
- Complying with the nursey with health and safety policy and procedure
- Maintaining highest standards of cleanliness/tidiness within the setting
- Leadership, including organisation, the ability to motivate others and effective decision-making.
- Being aware and observant of all health and safety issues in the setting and where possible reducing the risk of an accident occurring through preventative actions
- Ensuring a robust procedure is in place for the management of children’s allergy and dietary requirements
