Role Overview

  • We are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly and passionate Early Years Teaching Team Leader to work with our rising 2 year old class.
  • Role Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 6:00pm). A minimum of one academic year is required.
  • Set Holidays: 9 work days at Christmas, 4 work days at Easter, 10 work days at the end of August and all bank holidays
  • Start Date: 27th August 2024
  • Salary: up to £35,000.00 (dependent on qualification and previous experience)
  • Location: Cinderella Path, 153 North End Road, London, NW11 7HZ
  • Previous Room leader experience ideally within 2s+

Responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day responsibility of the class alongside the existing Team Leader
  • To plan rich, creative, engaging and stimulating activities that meet the age and stage of development of the children, and encourage them to reach their full potential.
  • To plan and prepare activities and evaluate their planning and practice through use of the EYFS curriculum.
  • To supervise and lead activities, planning for key children from observations, next steps, magic moments and parental input.
  • To complete observations and online learning journals to a high standard, ensuring that they are up to date
  • To complete Two Year Progress Checks to a high standard, including meeting with parents, as requested, to discuss the checks.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can lead a team and has good room and time management skills.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced nursery environment
  • Has a flexible, collaborative, and reflective working style
  • Is a team-player with a positive, “can-do” attitude · Is reliable and flexible · Takes initiative · Is articulate with a good command of English

Candidates must:

  • Have Right to Work status in the UK.
  • Have a registered DBS certificate on the update service or have adequate documents to make an application.
  • Have proof of an accredited qualification (at least NVQ3)
  • Have experience of working within Early Years
  • Have a good understanding of, and be able to comply with the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework (EYFS)
  • Have observation, planning and assessment skills that ensure the quality of learning is sustained
  • Have an awareness and growing understanding of Ofsted requirements - particularly Safeguarding and Health and Safety
  • Be enthusiastic and confident in their ability to engage children and extend their learning through play, enabling their emotional, social and educational development

Selected applicants will be invited for an initial Zoom or in person interview, after which shortlisted candidates will be invited to spend time in the setting to meet the children and staff. Candidates will also have the opportunity to plan and lead an activity, read a story to the class, correct a previously written Two Year Progress Check and complete observations whilst with us


The post holder’s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom he/she is responsible, or with whom he/she comes into contact, will be to adhere to and always ensure compliance with the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection policy. If, in the course of carrying out the duties of the post, the post holder becomes aware of any actual or potential risks to the safety or welfare of children in the school, he/she must report any concerns to the manager. The post holder must possess an enhanced DBS check.
